Bullying

Bullying is the persistent or repetitive abuse of authority in interpersonal interactions with the objective of intentionally injuring another person's psychological well-being. Verbal, physical, or social bullying behaviors are all possible.

Anywhere can be the victim of bullying: at home, online, among friends, in a crowd, on a bus, or at school.

When we say that someone is being victimized, we mean that they are getting bad or unfair treatment because they have reported racial or religious vilification, sexual harassment, or discrimination, because it is assumed that they will do so, or because they have helped someone else report such behavior.

The right to make a complaint exists for any employee who feels they have been the victim of sexual harassment or discrimination. They have the option of complaining to their employer or a third-party group like the Commission.

While each person is accountable for their own unlawful conduct, employers may also be held liable.

According to the Equal Opportunity Act, employers have a responsibility to actively prevent victimization, sexual harassment, and discrimination.

Someone who bullies another person might:

  • Feel jealous
  • Want others to like them
  • Want to feel better about themselves
  • Want to fit in with their friends
  • Feel angry inside
  • Like to be in control or have power over others
  • Have been bullied themselves
  • Not knowing what they're doing is wrong

  • HELP A BULLIED PERSON BY BEING A FRIEND
For someone who has been bullied, just showing support is consoling. It expresses the concern of someone or many individuals.

Someone needs a companion when they are struggling. Be present to support the victim of bullying. On school grounds, be a friend, gather with them after class, and include them in activities. Join them on the bus ride or the walk home. It means so lot to have to support and understand friends. Children who are being bullied need to know that you care about them.
